Greenpoint Brooklyn is no longer living in Williamsburg’s shadow as far as neighborhoods go. Greenpoint is a trendy neighborhood with lots going on for kids and families. The most happening area of Greenpoint is of course the section that directly boarders Williamsburg with many cafes and shops but Franklin Ave and Greenpoint Ave are also up and coming as far as great streets to visit. Resources and Things to Do
Central community gathering venues like the Greenpoint Church host an array of family friendly classes and events including Music Together classes. art, and an Easter Egg Hunt. Playtime Brooklyn is a play group for children ages 0-3 for those seeking some mama company. The Greenpoint YMCA has an assortment of resources for parents and kids including swimming, sports, and after school. Caribou Baby offers products and classes for pregnancy, birth preparation and parenting. They are also a local one stop shop for parenting essentials like sun block and diapers. A Step Ahead Therapy Services holds a variety of therapy services for special needs children. Town Square is a local organization that hosts a ton of free events for families in the Williamsburg and Greenpoint areas including free concerts, fairs and more.
If you are looking to just spend the day in this hood then Word Bookstore has events for kids such as puppet shows, comic workshops, and more. Greenpoint Toys is a gem among the dollar stores of Manhattan Ave. They are a classic neighborhood toy store that has everything you will need to keep your kid entertained. The Gym Park is a warehouse space filled with fun stuff for kids to do. They hold open play and gymnastics classes for kids all around Brooklyn and Queens. Owner Peter is a doll! On the very border of Greenpoint and Williamsburg is Play, an indoor play space that holds classes for little ones and enrichment through Enopi and Fastrack Kids for the biggies.

Playgrounds and Parks
McGorlick Park is an oasis in the eastern end of Greenpoint where Town Hall has been holding free events for kids. McCarren Park also borders Greenpoint
Greenpoint as a strong Polish influence when it comes to food which means that pergogies are the highlight of the area. If you are looking for something different however check out Papacitios on Manhattan Ave which sells wonderful Mexican street food and vegetarian fare in a relaxed atmosphere. Brooklyn Label has yummy coffee and food items like Ricotta Lemon Pancakes on their lunch menu. Need we say more? The Garden is the go to natural food store for basics and essentials on Manhattan Ave and also has a great selection of imported foods and natural groceries.
