5 Things to Do on 5th Ave. in Park Slope Brooklyn

If Park Slope had a town square for kids it would be 5th Ave and 4th Street. Packed with local shops and markets, this intersection has a great assortment of finds where you and your family can spend the afternoon. Whether you are a visitor to Park Slope or a resident, here are 5 recommendations to check out with kids.

JJ Byrne Playground

This is Park Slope’s largest and most active playground. With scenic walkways and great play structures, this park also hosts a ton of seasonal events and happenings from outdoor performances to harvest festivals.

Down to Earth Market 

On Sundays until 4pm the Down to Earth greenmarket fills the tail end of 4th Street with specialty food vendors like Pie Corps and Brooklyn Cured. This is a great place to check out with kids who want to get free samples of snacks and treats.

Area Kicks and Cuts for Kids

For essentials, kids and parents can check out Park Slope’s Area Kicks and Cuts for Kids. Kids can outfit themselves  from head to toe at this local retail store.

L’Albero del Gelati 

Recently opened local gelato joint and cafe. Kids can purchase gelato from the street and take a stroll into the park with their treats.

Bubblez Toys

Bubblez Toys is a throw back local toy store that resembles what you as a parent, probably remember from your childhood. Kids and parents can buy play essentials from balls and hula hoops to  action figures and jacks.
