The Brooklyn Bridge Park is hosting a Community Tree Giveaway this Saturday, May 12th. New York City residents can come to Pier 6 to pick up a free tree (YES, it’s free) and learn how to plant and care for it.
Please note that trees cannot be planted on rooftops, terraces, or in city parks and only one tree can be adopted per address. Simple tree planting and care instructions will come with your tree. All you need is a place to plant, a shovel, and access to water. You will be required to fill out a tree adoption agreement to adopt your tree. If you are not within walking distance of the park, consider bringing a vehicle to transport your tree to its destination.
Trees will be given away to NYC residents through a reservation system and on a first-come, first-served basis until supplies run out. To ensure you receive a tree, make a reservation by clicking here.
