P.A.L. (Parents of Accelerated Learners) Workshop SeriesFor parents of accelerated learners, take note, one of the most popular lecture series in New York City for parents of advanced learners, the P.A.L. Workshop Series starts back up this February 28. Each workshop is designed to help parents of accelerated learners focus on and understand the  issues relevant to their child’s cognitive, social & emotional development.

The P.A.L. Series is a joint effort between Jade’s ToyBox‘ Founder Angelique LeDoux,  NYC Private Schools Blog,  TestingMom.com and NYC G&T Blog.

Upcoming Spring 2012 series topics include:

February 28 – Supporting Early Giftedness Through Play: A Hands-On Session For Parents
March 12  – The Power of Books & Film for Kids:  Using Children’s Literature & Movies to Help Kids Connect with Others, Explore Emotions and Understand Themselves
April 25 –  Special Topics in Gifted Education- Guiding Gifted Girls: Savvy, Spirited & Strong-Willed
May 15 –  Supporting Your Child’s Gifts & Talents: A Talent Development Roundtable
June –  Preventing Summer Slide: Engaging Math, Reading and Enrichment Activities to Prevent Learning Loss or ‘Summer Slide

When: February 28 – June 2012 from 6:30 – 8 pm
Where: The Manhattan Youth Downtown Community Center, located at 120 Warren Street between Greenwich Street and West Street in TriBeCa
Cost: $10 per workshop with Downtown Community Center members admitted free of charge, and a scholarship is available for those in financial need.
