Haunted Brooklyn – Places to Take Tweens and Teens


If you have children that are a little older and can handle (and even enjoy) spooky Halloween-themed events, we’ve complied a list of places that can guarantee to give them a scare or two:




Gravesend Inn Haunted Hotel
Performances are from 1pm-5pm and on 21, 22, 28 and 29 are also from 6pm-9pm
This spooky hotel has a theme-park quality to it. It has been designed, constructed and is operated by Theatreworks and the Entertainment Technology Department of the College of Technology. Recommended age is 8 and up. Fee is $5 per person

Boo at the Zoo
The Prospect Park zoo will feature a haunted barn, along with face painting, crafts, and more. Fee: $8 for adults, $5 for children (3-12). Children under 3 are free.

Scary Stories from the Past
Lefferts Historic House
Master storyteller Tammy Hall will tell spooky stories of the little village of Flatbush 200 years ago. FREE.
Located at Children’s Corner, at the Willink entrance to Prospect Park
