Halloween in Coney Island

Coney Island is a great place to take kids over the Halloween weekend especially with these great events happening in the area. You can join in a parade, decorate your stroller, get into the New York Aquarium for free and even perform Michael Jackson’s Thriller.

 

 

 

1. A-Scarium at the New York Aquarium

At the Aquarium’s annual Halloween celebration kids can meet sea monsters, enjoy magic shows, live music, storytelling, and crafts activities. They can also collect treats at treat stations, and venture into a Spooky Shipwreck.

When: October 29th -30th 2011 from 11am-4pm

2. Thrill the World NYC

Thrill The World NYC will be held in NY with the Coney Island Dancers. Go to www.thrilltheworldnyc.com to sign up to be a part of this  world wide event. There are classes teaching Michael Jackson’s THRILLER all month long all over the city.  Thrill the World NYC is currently raising money for The Pajama Program and Fresh Youth Initiatives Helping Hands Food Pantry. 3.Coney Island Creepshow – Scare Alert! ages 14 and Up

Coney Island’s original Halloween extravaganza is one of the smartest and best spook shows in all of New York City. Audience members will take a roller-coaster of a “tour” through “NYPD Crime Scenes” including a deadly collapsed roller coaster and will meet living-dead performers along the way.

When: October  26 to Oct. 31. 6 – 11 PM

4. Coney Island Halloween Parade

The 2nd Annual Coney Island Halloween Parade also includes a costume contest and an afternoon of fun.  Kids and adults are welcome to wear costumes. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

When: Saturday, October 29th, 2011 (no rain date) Registration begins at 11:30 am. Parade kicks off at 1:00 pm

Where: Parade will begin at Peggy O’Neill’s, on Surf Avenue at MCU Park, and finish at the NY Aquarium (Surf Ave and W. 8th Street)

5. Nights of Horror at Luna Park – Scare Alert! for big kids only

Ride roller coasters and check out Luna Parks Halloween spectacular.

When: October 20-30th from 6pm until closing

School, Inwood, NY & 10pm in Coney Island Brooklyn, NY with the Coney Island Dancers. Go to
