Enjoy Wonderful Free Story Times in Brooklyn for Kids at These Great Local Venues
Looking for a great free story time in Brooklyn for kids? If you and your child, have the case of the boredoms, and want a quick but educational trip outdoors, catching a story time session at your local bookstore, or library is just the cure. You’ll find it hard not to make a regular visit to these venues, as they always find a way to keep you and your child interested each time. I found that most of the story times are usually cheap, and even FREE! No matter what the weather looks like, or even the age of your child, story time is one of those things, that all will enjoy.
Boulevard Books and Café
Though opened only almost two years ago, this gem that sits in Dyker Heights, has drawn up quite a crowd. They have tons of books for kids, and some great ones for parents too. You will find most times that the owner herself reads at the storytime session!

A neighborhood nook, this local bookstore, goes beyond its locality to make every baby and toddler feel a warm welcome. They have a cast of some of the best (if not the best) rotating performers, who use an interactive technique to engage, and play with the children.

P.S Bookshop, is one of a very few of bookshops, that buy and sell used, vintage, and rare books in New York City. They treat their weekly dose of kids, mamas, and papas that attend storytime, with even more care then they do these rare finds in their shop.

If your child enjoys songs, and nursery rhymes, and your looking forward to meet other families in your neighborhood, then this program is for you. Like many of us parents, the Public libraries in Brooklyn believe that hearing stories and rhymes help develop your child’s language skills. Babies and Books, caters to babies ages birth to18 months.

Not only does the Public libraries in Brooklyn cater to babies, but they also cater to pre school age children. Many locations faithfully hold preschool storytime once a week for kids ages 3-5. Though admissions are usually free, you need to purchase tickets for the more popular locations.

Every child loves toys, and every parent wants their child to be a great reader. Put the two together and you have Story and Play. The Brooklyn Public libraries believe that through play your child develops literacy and social skills.
