The Wiyos, a hip, kid-friendly band is performing at the Brooklyn Public Library as part of the Carnegie Kids concert series. Carnegie Kids holds FREE, interactive, 45-minute concerts designed for children ages three to six.
Be prepared to be transported to the 1920’s and ’30s. The Wiyos will be bringing their Fedoras, vaudeville, washboards, kazoos and banjos inviting kids and adults alike to holler, stomp and sing along to old-time American folk music. This Brooklyn-based trio captures the vintage spirit of the era by drawing on blues, ragtime, spirituals, and Appalachian jug-band music. The Wiyos band includes Michael Farkas (Lead Vocals, Harmonica, Kazoo and Washboard); Teddy Webber (Table/Lap Steel Guitar, Acoustic Guitar and Vocals) and Seth Sauerkraut Travins (Upright Bass.)
