Meet the “real” horse behind the year with special miniature horse keeper chats and help celebrate all of the animals of the Lunar New Year zodiac with an exciting scavenger hunt around the zoo. You might even receive a special treat at the end! Guests can craft their very own Chinese lanterns from red envelopes and check out other exciting animal demos around the zoo.

Saturday and Sunday at 1 p.m. & 3 p.m.: Come see local cultural performance group Chinese Theatre Works perform an authentic puppet show entitled “Hao Bang Ah, Horse!” This interactive show based on popular songs and well known Chinese sayings will teach guests about Lunar New Year customs, foods and zodiac animals in a fun and accessible way.
