The Puppets on Film festival is the most comprehensive collection of films incorporating live puppetry ever shown anywhere, with more than a few Muppet movies on the docket. There are plenty of puppets for kids in the mix; Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, Elmo and the incomparable Kermit will all make appearances.
Muppet Treasure Island (1996–Nov. 20) and The Adventures of Elmo in Grouchland (1999–Nov. 12) will both screen during the series as well, much to the delight of young film fans. Cheryl Henson, president of the Jim Henson Foundation, and another one of Jim Henson’s daughters, will introduce The Muppet Movie (1979–Nov. 13), which is sure to be popular with children and adults who remember the Muppets’ epic trek to Hollywood from their own childhoods. There’s no Rainbow Connection sing-a-long planned, but we’re betting that if one person starts, the whole audience will join in.
