The Sony Wonder Technology Lab located at Sony Plaza, near Central Park is a four-story, interactive technology and entertainment museum where young techies can revel in the museum’s hands-on activity stations. Through it’s permanent exhibits and innovative programs, the SWTL will inspire your child’s creative side in a family-friendly environment and all for FREE.
One of our favorites is the Dance Motion Capture exhibit where kids stand in front of the camera and do their best booty shake or dance moves, then choose an avatar and watch as the character performs their unique moves. And if you want to catch a movie on the cheap, every Saturday at 2pm, the education center’s high-def theater hosts free screenings of classic movies along with family friendly hits. It literally is like watching a movie in your very own media room.
In the Game provides visitors the opportunity test certain PlayStation3 games in one of three alcoves equipped with hi-def displays. Too cool and be forewarned this is very popular with kids so they will have to be patient to wait their turn.
Visit sonywondertechlab.com for a description of all the exhibits including Movie Maker, Music Maker, Game Builder and many more along with the upcoming movie schedule.
