Recycle Your Christmas Trees During Mulch Fest January 7 and 8

Be Green and be one of thousands of New York households to help the environment and participating in the New York City Department of Parks annual MulchFest taking place this Saturday, January 7 and Sunday, January 8. Trees will be recycled into mulch that will nourish plantings across the city or your own garden!
MulchFest
When: Saturday, January 7 and Sunday, January 8 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. You can also bring your tree to a drop-off site, starting January 2 and running through January 8.
Where: Bring your holiday tree to one of 70 designated parks with 30 chipping sites and 40 drop-off sites throughout the five boroughs.
Instructions: Remember to remove all lights and decorations before bringing the tree to a MulchFest site.
Patrons are encouraged to take advantage of the free mulch available at each chipping site. Free mulch collection bags are provided for your convenience.
